Officials Update and Certifications

Welcome to the 2023 Officials Certification season where we gladly return to in person courses and certification! This is not Coaches Education (Level 100) this is Official’s Certification for Referees, Jury Advisors, Chief of Race, Chief of Course, Race Administrators, Timing and Calculations and Technical Delegates. $20 online pre-payment fee fro the day, $40 onsite payment fee

Friday November 4th RA1 6pm-8pm at Palisades Tahoe.

Saturday, November 5th full day of offerings at Palisades Tahoe:

8am – 11am: 2023 season review and update (this is required for any official/coach that has older than 2022 on their AO line of their membership account/card).  If you already hold an AO certification and you do not need to take any new courses this is the only course required to update your AO for the 2023 season.

11:30 to 5pm certification break outs. This will be a full course followed by certification exams.
Referee – required for coaches that are looking to ref and set at events
Jury Advisor – for those serving as a start or finish official at races

New officials must complete their CO (competition officials quiz and turn it in to [email protected]) prior to attending their first certification

Saturday, November 19th 4:00 at the Mammoth Mountain Race HQ upstairs. 
Technical Delegate Update 2pm.
Alpine Review and Update 4:00 to 6:00pm.

There is no exam process with this course offering. Cost $20.

December, date, time and location TBD in the Tahoe Basin. This will be a full referee course and certification. New officials must complete their CO (competition officials quiz and turn it in to [email protected]) prior to attending their first certification.

How to become an official:
1. Competition Officials course. This course can be completed from the comfort of your own home, or you may have an invite from US Ski and Snowboards Coaches Education Department to complete your CO via their Moodle dashboard.
2. Choose an area of certification: Chief of Race, Chief of Course, Race Administration, Timing and Calculations, Referee (coaches) or Jury Advisor (start and finish referee’s)
